These pumps required something new. They needed a necking operation to be turned on them for a new style hose connection.

Typically operations like this necking are done on a lathe by rotating the part, but the pump casting was being held stationary to perform other machining operations.

The Jost Solution turned the process inside out. We developed a facing head that mounted on a precision spindle. It performed the necking operation simultaneously with the bearing bore operation!
